This is an old family classic and a longstanding tradition that I'm always happy to rekindle. Big boy has a variety of diner choices and it also has a few choices to keep up with the times, which is nice if your dining with a multitude of generational tastes. My old standby is the patty melt with a salad and raspberry vinaigrette. I admit it's not the most healthy of choices but it's fine for the once monthly visit in Rochester Hills. While most all the servers are fun and pleasant I'd like to give a special acknowledgement to Taylor. Her attitude is upbeat and bubbly the perfect addition to the homestyle traditional environment and menu that is Big boy. I as always recommend signing up for member rewards. Today I will be enjoying a fudge and Ice cream Sunday courtesy of signing up for the Big Boy fan club. Best~Robert.

Nice soup and salad bar. Clean restaurant and tasty Big Boy Classic burger. What do Yelpers expect at a Big Boy Filet Mignon? I swear, what a bunch of cry babies.

Been years since I've been to a Big Boy. Went here the other day and must say I was fairly impressed. I mean come on, it's Big Boy, you pretty much know what your walking into no big mystery. That said this place was fresh looking and clean. Service was good, and the old stand by the classic Big Boy burger was just how I remembered. Menu has changed some, but still all the classics. No complaints.

Um ... they remodeled? That's about the only nice thing I can say about this place. They were closed recently for renovations. What used to be a drab exterior transformed into a bright, welcoming place. Or so I thought. Don't get me wrong, the outside looks great. The franchise must be doing well if they could pour money into all the work. Because it sure sucked me in. But that's where the fun ends. Whoever selected the interior paint really should be fired. It's a depressing yellow. Isn't yellow supposed to be bright? Here, it isn't. It's just really bland. Might as well gone for white. The furniture seems to be updated, but the inside looks just like it used to. As for the food, well. It still sits in your stomach hours after having it for breakfast. The weekend buffet is a good deal for $8.99 if you like three different kinds of eggs and I swear, like five different kinds of potato, maybe more. The salad bar is nice I guess. As for the service? Forget about it.

One of the better Big Boys in the area. The staff is usually attentive and the food is what you'd expect from Big Boy. It's clean, cheap, and comfortable.

I've been not feeling well today and just wanted a cup of soup. So when my dad needed to go to lowes I suggested Big Boy across the street. My dad and I ordered a Pepsi and the breakfast buffet. My mom ordered the country omelet and a Pepsi. My dad and I went up to get our food from the breakfast bar and there was barely anything on it. When we got back to the table the waitress had not given us any silverware or our drinks. She then walked around all the other tables she was serving before bringing us our silverware. Also, she told us shed be right back with our drinks. 5 mins later she went and brought the table next to us there food and said "I didn't want their food to get cold, ill be right back with your drinks." When she finally brought us her drinks she walked away before giving us straws. She then finally brought them as well. When my moms food arrived my brother got there and ordered a Big Mac just the sandwich. The waitress only brought my moms omelet no hashbrowns claiming she didn't want the omelet to get cold either. When she brought the hashbrowns they were underdone and rushed. She put in the Big Mac order and had to tell a manager because it took too long. My brother said the burger was standard. The only really good part of the experience was the very kind, gracious manager who took care of the entire bill for us! Thank you if you are reading this! (Your the reason it got two stars Instead of one)

Truly is what it is, nothing special. We were craving a slim jim & there's is a one of a kind. Location could truly use a makeover.

Worst service possible... If I could give a negative Star I would. When we arrived the place was not busy at all and had to wait 15 min to be seated. Then after a long wait to order the waitress never returned to check up or refill our drinks. After we made many trips to check on our food and another lengthy wait finally our food arrived. But wait, not everyone's ... Manager said they were waiting on bacon which no one at our table even ordered. When the last meal arrived it look as if they just threw it on the plate half made. Instead of the manager coming over, he sent our rude waitress over instead with a half hearted apology. Then we had to again find someone to get our check only to find our waitress talking and playing in the back. When ask her for the check she rolled her eyes and just handed it to is from behind the food counter. Not sure if this is common here but I wouldn't recommend stopping.

It's been quite a while since I visited a Big Boy, but since I'm a poor student again, I'm ballin on a budget these days and Big Boys is a nice casual cheap place for lunch or dinner. This location is nice, and was very clean the prior 2 times I visited. The service was great and our servers on both occasions were very attentive. The soup and salad bar was clean and everything seemed fresh and not like it was sitting out for hours upon hours. I noticed the manager constantly checking the bar to make sure it was clean which was reassuring. And last but not least, their seasoning that sits in the brown shaker at the table is amazing. That's probably 95% of the reason I will keep going.

Four stars for a Big Boy? You bet. I'm from Waterford and Big Boy had always been a last resort restaurant. I am attending a class two days a week in Rochester and have stopped here for dinner each time. It is recently remodeled based on the reviews and while I didn't see the "before" the "after" is impressive for a Big Boy. This is probably the nicest Big Boy I've seen in Michigan. Definitely the cleanest. Of the three times I've stopped in, service was exceptional the first two and pleasant the last time as well. The Slim Jim was great every time, as was my Mini Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cake. The side salad here is impressive as well. Several different kind of lettuces versus the normal plain Iceberg you find at Big Boy, and an overall fantastic looking side salad. I don't love Big Boy, but I love this Big Boy. If only it were closer to my home!

The only time to really come here is for the breakfast buffet on Sundays. I haven't really had the lunch menu so I can't speak to that Though I've heard that they're slim Jim's are quite good. If you come here early on any days other than the weekends you'll be greeted by a room full of senior citizens, Or as they call them there the blue tops because of their grey hair. The buffet on Sundays is decent though, And you really can't beat their You pick four deal, four breakfast items for only four dollars. Aside from the breakfasts and their breakfast buffets I'd never go there

Easily the worst meal I've ever had, and I'm including the time when my mother's ex-boyfriend decided to treat us to his "famous" tater-tot casserole (Eek). This is literally the only place near Rochester Road that wasn't closed on the 4th of July, and my boyfriend and I were both hungry and lazy enough that we decided that it was worth the risk of a potentially mediocre meal. We were wrong. After scouring the menu, I came to the conclusion that I did not fancy heart failure, so settled on the yogurt with granola and turkey sausage. You can't really mess that up, right? To be fair it wasn't too atrocious, but I did expect some fruit with the yogurt and perhaps more than a sprinkling of granola on top. I supposed that it was my fault for the assumption, so I ordered a side of fruit as well, hoping there'd at least be some strawberries as it's strawberry season, and they were advertising like crazy. Nope. I got a bowl of soggy melon, improperly cut pineapple, and grapes. I picked out the grapes and plopped them in my yogurt until I came across a thoroughly rotten one and was immediately horrified. The turkey sausage just flat disappointed me. It didn't really taste like it was cooked right, and just had an overall nasty flavor. My boyfriend ordered something akin to buffalo chicken strips with fries and the broccoli cheese soup. The soup came out first, and he described it as "awful and disgusting". I thought it could have been worse, but it could have been A LOT better. His chicken strips were burnt, but then they were so covered in buffalo sauce that you couldn't really taste them, anyway. I had a bite, and found it similar to just chewing on abnormally chunky orange sauce. The fries were terrible, being under cooked and completely raw in the middle. The only upsides were that my coffee didn't taste like raw sewage (which I was expecting), and our waitress was extremely nice. Had she been rude, I probably would have complained more, but I felt kind of bad that she was working at a Big Boy on a holiday. Overall, I did not have high expectations when I went in, but they were not nearly low enough. I will probably (hopefully) never step foot into another Big Boy again.

Whenever I eat at Big Boy I usually stick with ordering up a tasty classic like the Slim Jim. But I'm trying to go back to low carb eating and Big Boy is not exactly on my list right now. My luck would have it that my friends wanted to meet up there for dinner. So I agreed to go even though I'm also not fond of this particular location. I figured I would have to learn to choose healthful options at any restaurant so why not start with Big Boy! The first thing I see when I sit down is that picture of the huge Belgium waffle covered with strawberries...of course! But I sucked it up and skimmed the menu for a low carb choice. I did like how the menu listed nutritional info for the healthy choices; it was helpful. I decided on the Mediterranean grilled chicken salad with zesty garlic dressing instead of raspberry vinaigrette. It was simply great! I was surprised at how tasty it was. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and the chicken was tender. The zesty garlic was not too strong and was a good choice for a non creamy dressing. I ended up enjoying my salad as if it was a greasy sandwich! OK maybe not that great but dam close. At least I know that I can order a healthful salad from Big Boy, and not be disappointed.
